We care about the entire package, both inside and out

We’re putting sustainable packaging at the top of our priorities.

Not only do we care about what’s inside that counts but we also care about the packaging. We’ve been super careful to assess the impacts our packaging may have on the environment. The bottom line is we are setting the bar high for our packaging as well. Here’s how we define and approach our sustainable packaging initiatives.

By 2025, 100% of our packaging will be recycled, recyclable, refillable, reused, or compostable.

So, what are we doing about it?

We’re taking the same approach we bring to our formulations to our
packaging: prioritizing safety and transparency.

We’re tackling packaging in the following three ways:

Environmentally Preferred

Designing for Circularity

Reducing our Footprint

Environmentally Preferred Packaging Materials

Transitioning to More Sustainable Materials: Glass

The great thing about glass is that it is recycled more than plastic in most cities. Glass doesn’t leach toxic chemicals like plastic does. After doing the research we found that water, energy, and waste products, it was the right thing to do to launch our beard oil bottles in glass. Plus, all of our glass bottles are sourced right here in the USA. Which cuts down with importing them thousands of miles from overseas.

Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Plastic/Resin

PCR plastic is made from recycled plastic items like bottles that have been collected, sorted, cleaned, and processed. Using PCR removes plastic items from the waste stream and gives them another life. Just as importantly, using PCR material minimizes the amount of virgin plastic needed to produce a product. Our Life cycle assessment (LCA) data indicate that using PCR plastic instead of virgin can decrease estimated fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 45%, and water use by approximately 59%.

Rethinking Recycling

Have you ever thought about what to do with your product after it’s all been used? Good news: in partnership with How2Recycle®, when you shop our products, you’ll now have clear instructions on how to recycle or dispose of them too. Look for How2Recycle Labels on the back of your products to learn the best way to dispose of it.

Sourcing Closer to Home

Where practicable, we aim to source from suppliers closer to home for packaging materials.
